The practice of the Necromancy The practice of the Necromancy requires indomitable will. On the one hand, you will be shunned by society at large. It is a path remarkably free of people. You will become the terminal outsider and have to be strong enough to live a life of secrets, and solitude. On the other hand you must brave that which is beyond comprehension and that which is truly terrifying. Knowing you have no real defense against the forces you encounter, you must seek them out, time and time again. Before you are truly successful, you will be picked up and tossed around. Turned inside out and still have to ask for more. The very act of being shown your own future, in vivid detail and then to have to live it, having no power to change it, is enough to turn many seekers away. But that is only the beginning. It begins simply enough. Seek to obtain a helper on the other side. This idea brings all manner of images to mind. From the sublime to the utterly ridiculous. But it's simply an idea to start with and is truly beyond anything one might imagine. What ever you think it is, it isn't. This is the only way you can be certain, what you're dealing with is real. The things you imagine appear and happen just as you imagine. Those things are not real. Things that are real behave in ways you couldn't imagine. Turn out to be other than you thought they'd be. Open doors and answer questions you'd never think to ask. Personally, I spent years in dark rites and services and had a powerful reputation before I encountered one that would put me in touch with my "Helpers," on the other side. A thing occures over time. One point of view states that which each contact, the Necromancer becomes less alive, for lack of a better word. That the dead take a piece of the necromancer to the otherside and reconstruct the necromancer there, thus increasing their ranks through service to the necromancer. I personally view it as training. Your soul and what you believe to be your body undergo a transformation. You begin to see as they see, move as they move, effect change as they do, change shape as they do. In physical reality you become lighter, faster. The things of your world that seemed important lose their meaning. Your world begins to deconstruct and you begin to live in their world, which is right here inside the layers of the layers of our current existence. It is at times a terrifying journey as you  wander lost between the two worlds. Guardians exist there. Not for your protection, but to protect other things from you.  As I said, it is training, to be dead. To be beyond the will of this world. Once your conscious awareness of yourself is borne to the other side,  you are born on the other side. And I hope you were paying attention  along the way, for from that point out, you are your own helper on the  other side. And let me tell you, no one saw that coming. Necromancy is a practice of service. Before those residing in the undiscovered country can show you anything, you must agree to follow, or you won't find it. It's really quite simple. You engage your will to be obedient to their instruction for the duration of time it takes to receive  whatever reward you are seeking to obtain. An exchange  occurs because  you are walking their chosen path. If you  waver, they will bump you. If you try to quit, they will chase you. If you refuse the reward, they will leave you forsaken until you do.
